Writing a Children's Book with Lemon House Publishing

6 Steps to Writing Your Own Children's Book

In this self-paced course, you will learn from author Jacky Lamenzo the process of brainstorming, character development, drafting, peer editing, revising, illustrating and publishing your very own book!

By the end of the program, you will have written and illustrated a one-of-a-kind book that can then be submitted to Lemon House Publishing. Profits from book sales go to Boston literacy charity, Storytime Crafts. If you'd like to self-publish on Amazon yourself, there is an additional course you could purchase from Lemon House Publishing for $98.

This class will allow you to:

  • Learn project management skills. Seeing a project from start to finish and having a tangible result at the end will feel rewarding and build the desire to see projects through.
  • Strengthen self-confidence. Celebrating your efforts at the end of this program with a physical product will strengthen both academic and personal confidence.
  • Develop self-expression. Each author will have the creative freedom to create his or her own stories with our guidance.
  • Check off a bucket-list item! You will accomplish a unique and rewarding project, and have a finished product at the end.

This course is suggested for ages 8 and up; some students may need more guidance and support, available through 1:1 private coaching sessions at a discounted rate of $70 per 45-minute session. There will be links throughout the course to register.

Hi there! I’m Jacky Lamenzo. I was born and raised in Needham, MA (NHS ‘08) and got my Early Childhood Education degree from the University of Hartford. After publishing my very first children’s book, Addy Wants to Fit In, I decided to help others write their own books. I established Lemon House Publishing in July 2020 and since have guided several hundreds of students to write and publish their own books.
